Of Mid-Year Finances and God's Continued Provision

Hello Saints,

We thought we would give an update on our giving financials for the first half of the year. The good news is that because of your generosity, our revenues are up 13%. However, per the annual report, our goal this year was to increase regular giving by 20% in order to significantly decrease our deficit spending.  This puts us currently 7%, or about $6000, below where we would to be by this point.

In order to try an meet our goal we would like you to continue to do three things. First, pray. Please dedicate some of your prayers first to THANKING God for what we currently have, and for His will to be done. Please then ask for His continued provision for Trinity.

Second, please continue to invite and bring guests. Less than 5% of new members to a church come because the lead pastors invite them. Over 80% come because they get an invitation from a member. It's been wonderful to see how many of you continue to do this with old and new friends.

Third, people often come to Tracey or I asking if there are specific projects they can help with, which is a huge blessing. Right now the main project we need help with is the day to day running of the church (though there are also a few other projects as well). Please consider giving to our general funds so we can continue to grow and minister to the surrounding area, and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Tracey and I continue to be incredibly thankful for all of you and your generosity with both your finances and your time. We'll give you another update on how things are going in mid-October.

In Christ,

Jamey +

Positing an older but great song from Switchfoot this week: Gone. In particular, the following lyrics hit home with me while writing this blurb:

Life is more than money

Time was never money

Time was never cash

Life is still more than girls

Life is more than hundred dollar bills

And roto-tom fills

Life's more than fame and rock and roll and thrills

All the riches of the kings end up in wills

We got information in the information age

But do we know what life is

Outside of our convenient Lexus cages

She said he said live like no tomorrow

Every moment that we borrow

Brings us closer to the God who's not short of cash

Hey Bono I'm glad you asked

Life is still worth living, life is still worth living

Life is more than you are

Prayer:

Accept, O Lord, our thanks and praise for all that you have done for us. We thank you for the splendor of the whole creation, for the beauty of this world, for the wonder of life, and for the mystery of love. We thank you for the blessing of family and friends, and for the loving care which surrounds us on every side. We thank you for setting us at tasks that demand our best efforts, and for leading us to accomplishments that satisfy and delight us. We thank you also for those disappointments and failures that lead us to acknowledge our dependence on you alone. Above all, we thank you for your Son Jesus Christ; for the truth of his Word and the example of his life; for his steadfast obedience, by which he overcame temptation; for his dying, through which he conquered death; and for his rising to life again, in which we are raised to the life of your kingdom. Grant us the gift of your Spirit, that we may know Christ and make him known; and through him, at all times and in all places, may give thanks to you in all things.  Amen.
