25 years ago, I walked into the Alpha course with a chip on my shoulder. I was ready for judgment and rejection from these “Christians” who were hosting Alpha. How wrong I was. I left the course a different person. Despite having a close relationship with God as a child, I had abandoned my faith as a young woman. At Alpha, I was able to wrestle with why I had walked away. The small group discussions gave me the space to ask questions. The kind hospitality made me want to be a part of the community that hosted the course. I often say I left the course with my face glowing like Moses-knowing that I was loved, that my debt had been paid, that I was a new creation because of the Cross of Christ. Taking the Alpha course was transformational for me and my family. Jamey and I often say we would not be married now, 29 years later, if we hadn’t been transformed by the Holy Spirit. That transformation began at the Alpha course.

Over the years, Jamey and I have led dozens of courses: with youth, adults and the incarcerated. We have seen that transformational power work in the lives of both the guests and the hosts.

We want everyone at Trinity Church to be able to experience the renewal that the Alpha Course can bring. Please consider attending, and bringing a friend with you.

Fridays 6-8pm. September 18^th through November 27^th.

The Alpha Weekend October 24^th at Camp Agape, Hickory PA

Dinner and Childcare provided.

O God, the strength of all who put their trust in you: Mercifully accept our prayers, and because, through the weakness of our mortal nature, we can do no good thing without you, grant us the help of your grace, that in keeping your commandments we may please you both in will and deed; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
